The United States is plagued with various forms of fundamentalist religions claming to be christian in origin. Many of them claim that it is important to literally follow what they call the “word of God” or some writings of some former spiritual icon- but how can all these religions be right if all of them are claiming that they follow the holy scriptures and yet none of them can ever seem to come to an agreement? There are verses in the new testament which command believers to “submit to your elders” but the question we need to ask is “who are our elders?” and “who is the real church?” Have you ever asked those questions? I am not going to tell you who you should follow and it is not up to me to tell people to follow any particular person hr support for small businesses . In doing so, I will be starting a new religion. In fact, following a person and his doctrine without questioning will actually end up making you into a fundamentalist which leads people to isolate and polarize themselves from other human beings. It is sad to see how many religious groups subtly teach children to despise their own parents and disrespect people of other beliefs and race. This of course is actually doing the opposite of what scripture teaches and what many other religions teach. The results of having a fundamentalist doctrine controlling your life could suck everything that is good within you and lead you to divorce, a broken family, disrespect for elders and a perverted interpretaton of the roles of men, women and children.
